⭐ Zoggs Thermal Silver Lining Eco Swimwear – Full Review

I was lucky enough to try Zoggs’ vibrant new line of sustainable thermal swimwear — and I even roped in another Sunday dipper, my lovely friend Teresa. I’d heard so much about these silver lined suits and honestly couldn’t wait to test them out!

So, what’s so special about them?

They’re made with Thermal Silver Lining technology, which is designed to retain body heat up to 60% longer than standard swimwear — and when you’re a cold-water swimmer, that is a huge deal!

The suits use Ecofeel™ fabric, a compressive, soft textile made from recycled plastic waste, and come in bold prints to boost open-water visibility.

I personally love bright colours, so that was a big tick for me. And because the fabric is gently compressive, it felt so good on — everything stayed exactly where it should. Another easy tick!

As regular cold-water swimmers (and usually neoprene wearers this time of year), we were curious to see how these suits would compare. The water temperature on test day was 11.2°C with a moderate wind — ideal for putting those thermal claims to work.

First Impressions

Straight out of the bag, the fabric felt light, silky and soft, with a really premium finish. Once on, the suits felt secure and supportive without restricting movement. The wide straps and medium leg height gave great coverage, and the high back kept everything comfortably in place.

I did wonder if Teresa would struggle to get hers off at the lakeside because of the Strikeback design on hers - but she managed it easily, and we both agreed that changing afterwards was far simpler than wriggling out of neoprene!

And the prints? Stunning. Bright, bold, and exactly the visibility boost you want when sea swimming. On grey, moody-water days, it feels like wearing a little bit of sunshine.

🌊 In the Water

Entering the sea was, of course, a shock to the system (as always!) — but once we settled in, we both noticed a difference in warmth compared to standard swimwear. The silver lining helped our core temperature stay steadier than expected, without the bulk of neoprene.

The suits offered excellent move-ability — easy shoulder rotation, no drag, and no shifting straps. Unlike neoprene, there was no stiffness, and getting changed afterwards was infinitely easier.

While it’s not a full replacement for neoprene in very cold or long endurance swims, it’s a fantastic option for:

✔ swimmers not ready for full wetsuit hassle

✔ acclimatising during autumn/spring dips

✔ confident short-duration cold-water swimmers

✔ pool and spa use (thanks to being chlorine resistant)

♻ Eco Credentials

I have to mention the eco side, because they’ve clearly put a lot of thought into the materials. The Ecofeel™ outer fabric is:

🟢 79% recycled micro polyamide

🟢 21% elastane

It offers that smooth, compressive feel while reducing reliance on virgin plastics. And with full front & back lining, it scores highly for modesty and durability.

⭐ Final Thoughts & Ratings

These thermal eco suits are a terrific middle-ground between standard swimwear and neoprene. They are:

✨ Warmth-boosting, but not bulky

✨ Supportive, but still lightweight

✨ Sustainable, stylish, and confidence-boosting

And here’s how I rated them:
